Letterpress Print / 2018

Asian/Asian American women are often perceived as docile, obedient, reserved. It's a societal construct that I don't identify with. I've had friends, family, colleagues offhandedly say I'm "aggressive" and "angry" for the typical Asian woman.

The title, ABG (Asian Baby Girl), is a running joke in the Asian community and I used it as a tongue in cheek nod to the "Not Your Baby" trope. I don't fit in anybody's definition of an Asian woman, and I don't think anybody should have to.

This is the first of a series of letterpress prints. Showcased at the 100 Under 100 Group Art Show at Fleet Wood in San Francisco, California.
